Connie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders in 1989 at the University of Minnesota and her Master’s degree in Communication Disorders in 1992 at San Francisco State University. She has been a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association since 1993.
Connie has a diverse background as a speech-language pathologist having worked in a variety of settings across the United States including inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, long term care, home health care, acute inpatient, outpatient clinic, and the PK-12 school setting.
In 2014 Connie was certified in LSVT Loud for the treatment of Parkinson Disease. In 2015 she was certified in the McNeill Dysphagia Therapy Program for the treatment of severe swallowing impairment in adults. Additional training through participation in conferences and graduate level courses has also been pursued in the areas of voice therapy, communication and cognitive changes related to dementia, sensory integration, language development, and literacy.
Outside of work Connie enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking, cross country skiing, and gardening. She feels fortunate to be able to develop her career in a beautiful setting and friendly community like Hayward.
