Theresa is originally from south-central Wisconsin and is excited to be part of the Hayward community. Theresa has a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry from Beloit College and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison in December of 2016 with Masters of Occupational Therapy.
Theresa passed the NBCOT (National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy) in January 2017 and plans to regularly attend continuing education classes that focus on areas of need in our community. She is particularly interested in attending classes that are specific to the pediatric population, which is the area she hopes to help HAMH expand and better serve.
Prior to becoming an OT, she worked as an office manager and therapy aide for a small Physical and Occupational Therapy company in south central Wisconsin. Theresa has had clinical rotations at the VA in Madison and Meriter Hospital in Madison. At the VA she had the pleasure of working with Veterans in a residential substance abuse program to gain fun, meaningful and sober leisure activities. At Meriter Hospital in Madison she worked with acutely ill patients with a variety of diagnoses including cardiac, neurologic, gastrointestinal, and orthopedic disorders.
Theresa enjoys working with clients to help them engage in the activities that are meaningful to them. Each client is unique and she enjoys the problem solving involved in finding the treatment and solutions that best fit into their lives. She looks forward to working with the HAMH team to better serve the Hayward community.
In her free time Theresa enjoys gardening, swimming, cooking, and traveling.
