Hayward Area Memorial Hospital and Water’s Edge Care Center is once again holding the Healthcare Career Explorer program to offer a learning opportunity for our community. The program will give insight on the wide range of careers that exist in the healthcare fields.
Participants will receive a variety of information and hands-on experiences in healthcare careers such as nursing, surgery, radiology, laboratory, long-term care, therapies and more. Medical professionals work directly with students and offer insight into their area of expertise, educational requirements for their position and career opportunities within their chosen field.
The Exploring program will consist of five sessions that will last approximately 90 minutes each. Participants must be at least a sophomore in high school up to the age of 20. Each session will run from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM, with arrival time beginning at 6:15 PM. The hospital will provide a light dinner at the beginning of each session.
Certified CPR Course
New for 2020, in addition to the Career Explorer Program, we will also be offering a Certified CPR course. This course will only be offered to those who participate in the Career Explorer Program. Students will need to register for this course in addition to the Career Explorer program because at least three students are needed to hold the course and there will be a maximum attendance of six students. Please see Career Explorers enrollment forms for more information.
Interested students must sign-up for the program. Sign up forms, program dates and more information is available in the guidance offices at Hayward High School, Northwood’s, Spooner, LCO, Drummond, Winter and Birchwood school districts or by contacting Kerri O’Bel at 715-934-4155 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The program is limited to the first 20 registered participants.
