About the Job

The Dietary Clerk works with the Dietary Director to determine and place orders for food required for menu cycles, cafeteria, and special events. The Clerk receives shipments, properly stores items, and records invoices. Daily Dietary duties are preparing, collecting, and keeping records of select menus. The Dietary Clerk also assists the Dietician in providing nutritional screening and diet education as required.

– Determines quality and quantity of food required, plans and prepares master menus, including menus for therapeutic diets and controls food costs.
– Confers with other departments, such as the medical staff and nursing, regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dietetic service.
– Performs patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
– Frequently inspects all work, storage and servicing areas to determine that regulations and directions governing dietetic activities are followed.

Requirements

– Certification in Dietary Management (Within first 6 months)
– Participation in continuing education requirements to maintain certifications.
– Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
– Excellent interpersonal skills.
– Basic computer knowledge.- Highly developed organizational skills.
– Previous Dietary experience preferred but will train the right Candidate.
