HAMH Welcomes Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Brian Donahue

Hayward Area Memorial Hospital would like to introduce Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Brian Donahue. Brian Donahue, MD attended the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan and completed his residencies at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York and Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.

Dr. Donahue is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and has a Sub-specialty Board Certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Donahue received his Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship training from the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut.

Dr. Donahue has over 21 years of experience and his medical and surgical practice encompasses the full spectrum of orthopedic care including general orthopedics, sports medicine, total knee replacement, shoulder and knee arthroscopy and hand, upper extremity, foot, ankle and back disorders.

Dr. Donahue’s vision for orthopedic services at HAMH is to treat the whole person. “I believe in patients being involved in the decision making process and being educated about their healthcare,” says Dr. Donahue. “By getting to know them, and the activities they enjoy doing we are able to work together to develop an individualized care plan.”

Dr. Donahue served in the US Navy, serves as the team doctor for many high school athletic teams and participates in annual medical missions to Haiti. He is very excited to serve the Hayward community and collaborate with Dr. Justin Cummins and Dr. Joseph Signorelli and the entire Orthopedic Team to establish a regional orthopedic program in northern Wisconsin.

Specialty Services of HAMH takes a team approach to patient care. Dr. Donahue will work closely with Certified Physician Assistant, Barb Bowman. Barb completed her Physician Assistant training with the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She has 22 years of experience in the medical field including previously working as a laboratory medical technologist.

They will also work closely with physical therapists, including those who specialize in sports medicine to provide complete recovery care and patient education. No referral is needed and you can schedule your appointment to see either Dr. Donahue or Barb by calling 715-934-4850.
