Learning is fostered right here.

Our staff recognizes the need to provide opportunities for students to gain knowledge in various medical fields. Hayward Area Memorial Hospital and Water’s Edge accepts students from accredited schools. The staff is able to share valuable experience and knowledge with students. Previous students have found our staff to be very helpful and great educators.

Since 1974, the Hayward Hospital Auxiliary has been providing scholarships to students pursuing a career in healthcare. This includes nursing, pharmacology, neuroscience, pre-medicine, exercise and sports science, medical laboratory science, social work and health information technology, to name a few.

An extraordinary need now and in the foreseeable future is for qualified, trained professionals. This need is especially urgent in rural areas. The Auxiliary Scholarship is being offered in the hope that upon completion of their degrees, the same students receiving scholarships will return to Hayward Area Memorial Hospital & Water’s Edge to serve the ever-growing healthcare needs of our community.

High School students should complete and submit the high school scholarship application electronically by April 10. If you have any questions, please contact the Guidance Office at your school.
