Screening & Testing

A Sawyer County Community COVID-19 Hotline

The Sawyer County COVID-19 Hotline schedules appointments for individuals appropriate for testing.

Hotline Number:  715-934-4518

Hotline Hours:
The hotline is available 24/7.

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms below contact your Primary Care Provider to receive an order for testing. Tests for COVID-19 cannot be scheduled without a providers order. If you do not have a local primary care provider, you can contact Essentia Health E-Visits at  https://www.essentiahealth.org/services/e-visit/  to be assigned a provider.

Symptoms That Qualify For Testing

  • new or worsening cough
  • fever
  • sore throat
  • nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
  • nasal congestion (not related to allergies)
  • new or worsening shortness of breath
  • muscle aches/myalgia
  • headache
  • change in taste or smell

Sawyer County Public Health determines whether or not you can be tested for COVID-19 due to exposure. If Public Health says you should be tested call 715-934-4518 to schedule your appointment. If you believe you have been exposed but have NOT been contacted by Public Health and are NOT experiencing any of the above symptoms, you do NOT qualify for testing.

Possible Exposure That May Qualify For Testing

  • Has it been 48 hours since possible contact with a person who has confirmed COVID-19?
  • Have you had direct contact with a person who has confirmed COVID-19? (ex. hug, kiss, handshake)
  • Have you been within 6 feet of a person who has confirmed COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes?
  • Have you had contact with the respiratory secretions of a person who has confirmed COVID-19?
(ex. coughed or sneezed on, contact with dirty tissues, sharing a drinking glass, shared food or towels)
  • Have you stayed overnight for at least one night in the household of a person with confirmed COVID-19?
  • Have you been advised to quarantine?

*This screening process does not replace the need for you to call your clinic, utilize the triage options through your insurance company or go to the emergency room if you need immediate medial attention.*
