Our Occupational Therapists and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants help people of all ages learn methods of managing daily life with an injury, illness, disability or stroke. This includes activities of daily living such as; bathing, dressing, toileting, eating, personal hygiene and more.
Orthopedics & Joint Replacement
Occupational Therapist are an integral part of our Orthopedic and Joint Replacement team. During Occupational Therapy (OT) patients can expect to learn how to safely and independently dress, bathe, toilet, and perform other daily tasks after surgery. OT will make recommendations for adaptive equipment that may make these tasks safer and easier. These tasks are usually more difficult following surgery due to pain, movement restrictions, short-term decreased mobility, use of an assistive device while walking, and/or bracing.
Our Certified Lymphedema Therapist can specifically serve those with lymphedema and provide education to post-mastectomy patients about the precautions they should take to decrease their chances of getting lymphedema.
Our Occupational Therapy Staff work with Care Center residents on activities of daily living (ADL) and other treatments. They also assist with wheelchair positioning, in order to seat the residents in the most appropriate wheelchair for comfort and safety.
